Interested in an application to King's Evangelical Divinity School? Here are some common questions among people considering the courses.

How much does it cost?

When can I start?

All of our degree programs are fully flexible so you can start at any time.

Are the courses accredited?

All of our degree programs are fully accredited by the University of Wales, Lampeter, the third oldest university in England and Wales.

I don't live in the UK: can I still apply and study online or by distance learning?

Yes of course! Although most of our students come from parts of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, NI) we have many students from other countries. We have attracted students from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Singapore and many other nations. In particular, we have attracted a number of students from the US and have a special page on our main college website for applicants from North America. Please visit our main campus website to find out more about applications.

What books or other materials do I need to purchase?

As with all academic study, it is a very good idea to purchase additional books to support your learning. Good research requires wide reading so students find it helpful to obtain further resources and we have negotiated a special discount for students on some substantial resources. In addition, the eCampus provides a wealth of free materials for students including access to a number of academic journals and book extracts. Furthermore, as a University of Wales partner, all of our students have free access to online eBooks and journals provided by the University. For students with ready access to other British University libraries, access and borrowing is also free.

Am I required to visit the college at any time?

No. We have students from all over the world, often engaged in missionary work or full-time careers, who are unable to travel for study purposes. This is a full distance learning course in which there is no requirement for residential study.

Will I meet other students?

The nature of distance learning means that it can be very difficult to meet other students. We do offer regular, optional seminars in England where students can meet faculty and other students. Moreover, we have a very active online community that provides an interactive forum where students can discuss and comment upon their studies. This is part of our innovative eCampus that provides a complete range of teaching and community support.

Can I study for individual modules rather than a whole degree?

Yes of course. Some students study for just one module perhaps in Hermeneutics, Biblical Exegesis, or in New Testament Greek or Ancient Hebrew. Others prefer to select a range of modules as short courses so please see our list of modules on the main college website. Of course, we will only charge you for the modules you wish to study.
